The main function of the hub bearing (hub bearing) is to bear the weight and to provide accurate guidance for the rotation of the hub. It is a very important part, not only under the axial load but also the radial load. The traditional automobile wheel bearings are composed of two conical roller bearings or ball bearings. The installation, oil, seal and adjustment of the clearance of the bearings are all carried out on the automobile production line. This kind of structure makes it difficult to assemble in the automobile factory, has high cost and poor reliability, and it also needs to clean, oil and adjust the bearings when the car is maintained at the maintenance point. The hub bearing unit is developed on the basis of standard angle contact ball bearing and tapered roller bearing. It combines two sets of bearings with good assembly performance, omission of clearance adjustment, light weight, compact structure, large load capacity, pre loading grease for sealed bearings, omission of external hub seal and exemption. Yu Weixiu and other advantages have been widely used in cars, and there is a trend of increasing application in heavy trucks.

Most of the wheel bearings in cars used in pairs were single row tapered rollers or ball bearings. With the development of technology, car wheel units have been widely used in cars. The hub bearing unit's usage and usage are increasing day by day, and now it has developed to the third generation: the first generation is made up of double row angular contact bearings. The second generation has a flange for fixing bearings on the raceway. It can simply attach the bearing to the axle and fix it with nuts. It makes the maintenance of the car easy. The third generation hub bearing unit is equipped with a bearing unit and an anti lock brake system ABS. The hub unit is designed with an inner flange and an outer flange, and the inner flange is fixed on the driving shaft by bolts, and the outer flange is used for mounting the whole bearing. Worn or damaged hub bearings or hub units will cause unsuitable and costly failure of your vehicle on the road, and even damage your safety. In the use and installation of hub bearings, please pay attention to the following items:

1. In order to ensure safety and reliability to the maximum extent, it is suggested that the wheel bearings should be checked regularly regardless of the age of the car - notice whether there is an early warning signal for wear, including any rotating friction noise or unnormal deceleration of the suspension combined wheel when turning. For rear wheel drive vehicles, it is recommended to lubricate the front wheel bearings when the vehicle reaches 38000 km. When replacing the brake system, check the bearing and replace the oil seal.

2, if we hear the murmurs of the hub bearing parts, first of all, it is important to find the location of the murmurs. There are many moving parts that may produce noise, or there may be contact between some rotating parts and non rotating parts. If the noise is confirmed in the bearing, the bearing may be damaged and need to be replaced.

3, because the working conditions of the two sides of the bearing are similar due to the front wheel hub, even if only one bearing is broken, it is recommended to replace them in pairs.

4, hub bearings are more sensitive. In any case, the right method and suitable tools are needed. During storage, transportation and installation, bearing parts can not be damaged. Some bearings need larger pressure indentation, so special tools are needed. Be sure to refer to the automobile manufacturing instructions.

5. When installing bearings, it should be in a clean and tidy environment. Small particles entering the bearings will also shorten the service life of bearings. It is very important to maintain a clean environment when changing bearings. It is not allowed to percussion bearings with hammers, and be careful not to drop bearings on the ground (or similar improper handling). The condition of shaft and bearing block should be checked before installation. Even minor wear can cause poor coordination, resulting in early failure of bearing.

6. For hub bearing units, do not attempt to dismantle the hub bearings or adjust the seal ring of the hub unit, otherwise the seal ring will be damaged and the water or dust will be entered. Even the raceway of the sealing ring and inner ring is damaged, resulting in permanent failure of the bearing.

7. There is a magnetic thrust ring in the sealing ring of the bearing equipped with the ABS device. The thrust ring can not be collided, impacted or collided with other magnetic fields. Remove from the packing box before installation and keep them away from the magnetic field, such as motor or electric tools used. When installing these bearings, observe the bearing's operation by observing the ABS warning pin on the dashboard through road condition test.

8. A hub bearing with a ABS magnetic thrust ring, in order to determine which side of the thrust ring is mounted, can use a light little thing near the edge of the bearing, and the magnetic force produced by the bearing will attract it. When installing, one side of the magnetic thrust ring will be directed to the inside, which is sensitive to ABS. Note: incorrect installation may result in failure of the brake system.

9, many bearings are sealed, such bearings do not need grease in the whole life. Other unsealed bearings, such as double row tapered roller bearings, must be lubricated with grease when installing. As the size of the inner cavity of the bearing is different, it is difficult to determine how much oil is added. The most important thing is to ensure that there is oil in the bearing. If the oil is too large, the excess oil will exudate when the bearing is rotated. General experience: when installed, the total amount of grease will account for 50% of the bearing clearance. 10. When installing the lock nut, the torque size is very different due to the different bearing type and bearing base.

During the maintenance process, it is often found that some of the vehicles have larger running noise, and there is no abnormal wear on the tires. This phenomenon is often caused by the abnormal damage of the hub bearing, and the so-called abnormal is the bearing damage caused by installation. The front wheel bearing of a car is usually a double row ball bearing. When installing the bearing, if you use the hammer to strike the installation, or install the bearing through the inner ring of the bearing when installing the bearing into the bearing seat, it will cause the damage of the raceway on one side bearing. Noise is generated when the vehicle is running, and when the wheel is off the ground, it has no obvious noise because of the better side of the raceway. The correct installation operation is the key to the long life of bearings.
